   Missionary Frank Wheeler began a Bible study on Tuesday nights for the residents of Timberon. In 1977, the Tuesday night Bible study was changed to a Sunday morning worship service; and services were held in the Timberon Lodge.
   The First Baptist Church of Alamogordo was asked by the Mountain Valley Association to sponsor the new mission at Timberon. The Timberon Chapel was dedicated on May 20, 1979. People from all denominations come to hear the Gospel taught and preached and participate in worship.  The Interim Pastor is Bro. Marvin Lane of Alamogordo, NM. The Church is located at 197 Merlin Drive.
